Christopher A. Roman, 26, from Beaverton, Oregon, is accussed of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing an accident that resulted in the death of an infant boy on I-5 in Vancouver, Washington.
A 3-month-old boy was inside a disabled Acura while Tera Pina, 21, and Angel Pena, 23, were fixing a flat tire when it was struck by Roman, who was intoxicated and driving his Acura at a high rate of speed.
The infant was pronounced dead at the scene, Pina had neck and back injuires while Pena had a leg injury and head laceration. Roman was also inured; both vehicles were totaled.
Roman faces vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and reckless driving charges in the deadly crash. He appeared in Clark County Superior Court, before Judge Rich Melnick who set bail at $200,000 and appointed an attroney to represent him.
Court records reveal that Roman was previously convicted in 2005 of a DUI in California.
This is the second alleged vehicular homicide case in Clark County in less than a week.
