Eric Goods, 53, is accused of shooting and wounding his neighbor Tuesday morning in Clarkstown, New York. Police are uncertain of the events that lead to the event that turned the Condominium complex into a manhunt with armed officers & helicopters.
Edward Kern, 33, a schoolteacher in New York City, remains in stable condition being treated for multiple shooting wounds in the back of the head, back and arm.
Clarkstown Police said Kern was shot with a .38 caliber revolver, which was recovered early in the investigation of the shooting that took place shortly before 6 am.
Several 911 calls were received within moments of the shooting; Kern was one of those callers, advising that he had been shot and wounded. The information immediately led police to identify Goods as a “person of interest” in the investigation.
Goods faces a variety of other charges that are expected to be presented to a Rockland County grand jury. Goods was ordered held on $1 million bail pending a hearing set for later today.
